Barloworld Motor unveil Jaguar XJ

Barloworld Motor unleashed the Jaguar XJ yesterday and I was there capturing it all. People came, ate, drank and feasted their eyes on the beast of a car. I don't know how to identify a car as beautiful or handsome, but it is one of those. Dealer Principal, Mark Africa said style meets performance and I have to say I agree with him entirely. However, if I was the designer, I would have given the tail(butt) a different design. One that impressed me is the media player of this car which shows the driver only the controls while the passenger can watches a video- inteligent

Free Nandos at opening

I was recently one of many people invited to Nandos to 'have my fill' of free very peri food after listening to some speeches. Boy, was there a lot. Check out the photos after all they say a picture is worth a thousand words...

Scribes Tour Gabs Dam

Me and other journalists toured Gaborone dam recently and I took some great shots. We had great fun and wrote great stories. Check out the photos. Some of us went on a boat ride and while in the middle of the water the boat developed some problem with the engine and took a while to start again. I could see fear written on the faces of my companions as the angry water raged. It was windy and the waves were just a little scary. After a few minutes and cranks, however, I could see relief as the boat came back to life and we were able to ride to shore safely

Prisoner for 8 hours

Do you want to spite someone you hate? Just call the Drugs and Narcotics Squad and they will rush out without even thinking. This happened to me last week Friday and I put a diary together to share my experience, after all, a journalist is an eyewitness. 0600 hours: I wake up to a loud knock on my door. Still sleepy and rubbing sleep off my eyes, I head for the door only to realize that I have nothing on but shorts. I head back to the bedroom for my vest and then off to open the door but I realize that I have left the key. Finally, still feeling sleepy and key in hand but somehow feeling ready I open the door and realize that the man I had spotted through the kitchen window is not alone. Two other men and a woman spotting a UB t-shirt and cap are with him. All but one, look like they have been to a sponsored walk. The man closest to the door starts pushing his way in and in the process he introduces himself and his cronies as cops. To me they look more like robbers and I demand to see

Carnatics-The New Figo

Here Figo The selling line for this mini car is ‘style meets affordability’ and I believe that line is true of this entry level, Ford Figo. From the chiselled lines to the sporty interior as well as the air-con and dual air-bags. You do not expect such features in entry level cars. Though I was a bit disappointed by the manual window winder, I was comforted by the price; BWP109 000. But it is an entry level and a stylish one for that matter. The one I test drove was a diesel derivative, the 1.4l Duratorq which delivers 51kw at 4000 revs per minute as its maximum power. Torque is impressive for a car so small; 160Nm at 2000 revs per minute. Steering wheel feedback is also good and makes the car feel a bit heavy and therefore giving the driver a feeling of being in control. The diesel engine also has hums in a somewhat heavy voice which gives an impression that it is a power packed machine. Although it is entry level, Ford did not go soft on safety for this car. The power assisted ABS wi

Ian Khama aka IKSK

Since my last post, a lot has happened. Just like I said, our top guy is not afraid of anything. Now we have BMD, which used to be Barata Phathi- isn't funny that these guys went from barata phathi to baila phathi. The saga however continues. One of the defectors to the baby party(BMD), Philip Makgalemela, Mp for Shoshong has gone back home to BDP and tongues are waging like crazy. Some are calling him a traitor, but he says no ways follow the link below to read more. I will keep you posted www.gabzfm.com/index.php?
